To provide high quality child
care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in
a safe, loving environment while focusing on developmentally
appropriate social skills and providing educational
activities that stimulate positive growth and
development.

Parent
Policies
Ages Served:
Dolphin Days accepts children
ages 6 weeks through 8 years.
Operating Schedule:
Dolphin Days will provide
year-round full and part-time child care. The
hours of operation are 6:45am until 6:00pm. Monday through
Friday. The center will be closed on the following
days: New Year's Eve day, New Year's Day, Good Friday,
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving
Day and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Parent Involvement:
All parents are encouraged
to participate in the center's activities as much as
possible. This includes, but is not limited to,
sharing special talents with the children, assisting
with scheduled activities, etc. Parents are also
encouraged to stop in and visit with their children
whenever possible.
The most important
experience that an infant/toddler can get from our program
is socialization. Children will be able to interact
with each other as well as their teachers. This
will help form strong social skills as your child grows.
Language skills will also develop through the verbal
interaction from teachers. Children will be engaged
in activities as well as conversations with teachers
and other children.

Infant/Toddler
Daily Schedule
Infant:
Each infant will have a
schedule developed upon enrolment. This will be
set up by the parents and teachers to meet the individual
needs of the infant. Schedules will include times
that the baby normally naps and eats, what the baby
likes to do such as, be held, be in the swing, lay on
his belly on a mat, standing, etc.
Toddler:
6:45am - Program opens
7:00-8:00 - Breakfast served. (If brought by parents)
8:00-8:30 - Health check, free play, individual attention
from teachers
8:30-9:30 - Indoor/Outdoor play. (Weather permitting)
9:30-10:00 - Morning Snack
10:00-11:00 - Art/Free Play
11:00-11:30 - Story time/Music
11:30-11:45 - Clean up/prepare for lunch
11:45-12:15 - Lunch
12:15-12:30 - Lunch clean up, bathroom, brush teeth.
12:30-2:30 - Nap and/or rest time
2:30-3:00 - Wake up/Afternoon snack
3:00-3:30 - Puzzles/book/music
3:30-4:00 - Afternoon Circle time with movement/music
4:00-6:00 - Indoor/Outdoor play

Preschool
Program Plan
The pre-school program
will have a wide array of activities schedules. Every
Day, weather permitting, children will have outdoor
play. The activities will focus on gross motor skills
such as running, climbing, etc. Children will
have an opportunity to engage in group play and/or independent
play. There will be a wide array of equipment
for indoor play as well. Children will have choices
to make as far as what they would like to play with.
There will be dramatic play toys, building toys, books,
puzzles, arts & crafts supplies, manipulative, etc.
Circle times will include activities such as music,
show & tell, and group discussions. Children
will also have lessons on health and personal wellness
such as brushing their teeth which will be done every
day after lunch..

School
Age Schedule
Our before and after school program encourages
children to continue enhancing their learning through
fun and exciting activities. Children will have
the opportunity to have hands-on learning though science
experiments, reading, writing, and math activities and
even basic geography activities. Children will
also have the opportunity to be helpers in other classrooms.
They will be able to help the younger children do art
projects, put puzzles together, read them stories and
much more! Teachers will be providing many wonderful
experiences for your child as well as being able to
help with homework. Children will have access
to great resources such as new computers, books, educational
games, dramatic play areas etc.
Dolphin Days also offers a summer camp
program where they participate in daily activities such
as arts & crafts, fun science experiments, cooking
, art, music, dramatic play, martial arts, and sports.
The program consists of weekly themes such as Sensory,
Music, Dinosaurs, Sports Week, Art Week, Beach Week,
and even a talent show! The school age children also
participate in the daily themes that the other children
are doing.

Summer
Camp Program
Summer Camp Program: Children paticipate
in games, art activities, parties, etc etc, according
to the theme or the day. School age children participate
in daily themes as well as weekly themes, such as:
Silly Week, Beach Week, Sports Week, All American Kids,
Zoo-Mania, Hawaiian Speldor, and More!

Gymnastics
Gymnastics is held ever
Monday during the calendar school year. (Sept-June)
The class is one half hour long and taught by Broc Freehling
from American Gymnastics in Southington.

Sign
Language
Children ages 2-6 have
the opportunity to learn how to sign the alphabet, simple
words, and simple sentences.

Sick
Child Plan
In the event that a child
becomes ill while at the center, the child's parent/legal
guardian can not be reached, the emergency contact will
be phones. The child will be kept in a quiet area
of the room, isolated from the other children but well
supervised. The child will be allowed to rest
in/on his/her crib or cot.
A sick child will be
determined by:
1. A temperature
of 101 degrees or higher
2. Vomiting
3. Diarrhea two times or more within a one hour
time frame.
4. Any unexplainable rashes or skin irritations
5. An other signs or symptoms or contagious illness
A sick child may not
return to the center unless the following are met:
1. Fever free for
24 hours without the use of medication
2. Vomit free for 24 hours without the use of
medication
3. Diarrhea free for 24 hours without the use
of medication
4. A doctor's note is obtained stating that the
child is safe to return
